Occupational Therapy Gold Coast

Our paediatric occupational therapy services help children build essential skills for independence and confidence. By combining personalised assessments with evidence-based strategies, we identify each child’s strengths as well as areas for growth.

How Paediatric Occupational Therapy Services Can Help

Paediatric occupational therapy activity for fine motor skills

Our team supports children in the following areas:

Emotional Regulation
Helping children recognise, express, and manage their emotions using playful, evidence-informed strategies that fit naturally into daily routines.

Sensory Processing
Supporting children who are easily overwhelmed, always on the go, or seeking movement and pressure input — building self-regulation and comfort in different settings.

Fine Motor Skills
Developing hand strength, pencil grasp, scissor skills, and coordination for confident participation in writing, drawing, and self-care.

Gross Motor Skills
Improving balance, strength, coordination, and core stability to support running, jumping, playground play, and sport confidence.

Self-Care & Daily Routines
Building independence with dressing, feeding, toileting, sleep, and organisation — the everyday tasks that make home life smoother.

School Readiness & Learning Skills
Preparing children for school routines through attention, following instructions, pencil control, posture, and pre-writing skills.

• NDIS Progress, Review Reports & FCA (Functional Capacity Assessments)

Get Started Today

Getting started is simple. To begin, contact LittleStrides OT to discuss your child’s needs and share any goals or concerns. The process starts with an initial session — usually a 1–2 hour parent interview — where we explore your child’s early development and priorities. During this stage, session frequency is discussed (typically weekly) and meaningful goals are set together. As therapy begins, your child starts building rapport and engaging in fun, play-based activities. If an assessment is needed, it’s completed during a session, and a detailed report is provided if funding allows. This step-by-step process ensures your child receives consistent, effective support tailored to their needs.
